Catching up

It seems that I am not very good at blogging, seeing as how my last blog was last summer! With six kids things tend to get pushed to the side, or I just plain forget about them. Well, let's catch up! Where to start.. hmm. We put Duncan back into his charter school this past November. I realized at the time it was best for his education. With the new baby and a toddler and preschooler I just didn't have the time we needed to for me to sit down and help him through a ot of his work. He loves being back though. He missed his friends and some of the things his school offers. Logan was skipped a grade, so he is in 5th grade this year. And though I am not perfectly happy with his teacher, I think I have finally decided to try to let things go ( now that there is only a month and a half left of school.) Ian has been put into the third grade reading and spelling group! And Duncan and Logan were invited to the JrNYLC Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, DC. Logan was also nominated for the NYSP, National Young Scholars Program at Wake Forrest. However, because of finances, neither of them will be attending. And I think they are ok with that. There is always next year. Speaking of next year the boys will be attending a new school. P.A.L.S. Palmetto Academy of Learning and Success. It is a NEW Charter School and the Principal Courtney Fancher is amazing, as a principal, teacher, mother and friend. I am excited to have my children back under her care and I know they will receive the education they deserve in her school.
Kyan is excited to start school next year. He turned 5 in November and has been talking about it ever since. He is doing really well in speech therapy. He's been in almost a year now.
Teagan Turned three in March and WOW is he ever a three year old! Somedays I don't even know what to do with him. But he is so sweet, so loving. Amazing child.
Marisa Jo will be one year old next month and I just can't believe it. She is my heart. Don't get me wrong, when I talk about my daughter. I love all my children the same. I love them all more than I love my own life, but there is something special between a mother and daughter. And I never thought I would have one of those. She is almost 20 lbs now too! Growing fast. But she is still a little small for her age. I love dressing her up and she NEVER leaves the house without a bow, or hat, or kerchief or something. She is starting to walk now too. I give her a week before she is walking across the entire room!.
George was working for a man, landscaping but the work started to become unsteady in November and has just fallen through since then. He works when he can find it, and though he's put in countless applications, the right door just hasn't opened yet. Not that he's closing any. He works anytime he can find work. Though, as a blessing through this storm, he has been able to really bond with Marisa Jo in a way he never would have been able to had he been working a full time job.
My parents moved in with us last September, both to help them out and to help us out. My dad recently went through having a stint put into his heart, or.. artery near his heart. He is doing better physically. Mom has been having more good days than bad here lately and it is good to see. Though we are all anxious for George to find full time employment so they can move out. They love being here with the kids and all, but they are getting to the age where they just can't handle all the kids around all the time.
I will be posting some new pictures as I can. And hopefully I will get better about posting on here in general!
